The Monsignor Foley Heritage Society

Image of The Monsignor Foley Heritage Society logoDefinition: Those who make a commitment to the future of Loras College through an estate provision or life-income gift are welcomed as members of the Monsignor Dorance Foley Heritage Society. This planned giving recognition society honors all alumni, parents, and friends whose gifts of future support are helping to ensure the continued excellence of Loras.

Who was Dorance Foley?
In 1956 Monsignor Dorance V. Foley succeeded Bishop Lane as the 18th president of Loras College. Under President Foley’s reign significant expansion took place on campus, which included the addition of six major buildings. This was due in great part to Monsignor Foley’s fundraising acumen. Also, the legacy of Monsignor Foley will continue in perpetuity because he established an endowed scholarship through his estate for Loras College. The Monsignor Foley Heritage Society provides Loras with an opportunity to recognize those individuals whose commitments to strengthen the future of the college exemplify Monsignor Foley’s uncommon standards of loyalty and devotion.

What sort of gift would qualify me for membership in the Monsignor Foley Heritage Society?
If you have made an estate provision or life-income gift of any size, you are eligible for membership in the Monsignor Foley Heritage Society. These gifts include: will provisions, revocable trust provisions, insurance gifts, designations of retirement-plan assets, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder unitrusts.
